Job Title: Day Shift Caregiver

Join Comfort Keepers, a leading provider of in-home care services, as a Day Shift Caregiver. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of seniors and individuals in need of assistance with activities of daily living.

Job Summary:

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated caregivers to provide essential support to our clients. As a Day Shift Caregiver, you will be responsible for providing one-on-one in-home care services, including companion care and personal care, to keep our clients safe, healthy, and comfortable at home.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with grooming and hygiene tasks, such as bathing and dressing
  • Provide mobility assistance, including using transfer aids, to ensure safe and comfortable movement
  • Assist with transferring and positioning clients to prevent falls and injuries
  • Provide toileting and incontinence care, including changing adult diapers and assisting with bathroom activities
  • Prepare and cook meals, as well as assist with light housekeeping and laundry tasks
  • Assist with grocery shopping, errands, and transportation, as needed
  • Remind clients to take medication and assist with medication management
  • Work with clients who have dementia or Alzheimer's disease, providing support and care tailored to their needs
Requirements:
  • Minimum 6 months of caregiving experience preferred
  • Ability to stand, walk, squat, bend, kneel, reach, twist, push, and pull, with varied assistance required depending on client needs
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs as needed throughout the shift
  • High level visual and hearing acuity, as well as verbal communication skills, required
  • Applicants must be bondable and meet or exceed minimum qualifications for criminal background investigation and motor vehicle driving record
  • Permission to submit to pre-employment, reasonable suspicion, and post-accident drug and alcohol testing
  • Must have valid South Carolina Driver's License
  • Must have reliable transportation and fulfill assignments with reliability and punctuality
  • Self-directing with the ability to work with little direct supervision
  • Empathy for the needs of clients
  • Treat clients, families, staff, and the public with courtesy and respect, presenting a positive public image
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Ensure confidentiality and security of client medical information
