Job Summary:
Utility Lines Construction Services (ULCS) is seeking a skilled Underground Distribution Groundperson to join our team. As a Groundperson, you will be responsible for performing new construction, maintenance, and repair work of energized and de-energized underground line work following company-established safety and health standards from the ground level.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform new construction, maintenance, or repair work of energized and de-energized underground line work following company-established safety and health standards from the ground level.
- Ability to problem-solve with unidentified circumstances on any job.
- Ensure daily testing and inspection of assigned tools and equipment.
- Maintain company equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
- Excavate to assist in the installation of structures or cable as required by contract specification.
- Will have contact with public and private property owners to professionally communicate work to be performed.
- Participates in company training of all regional safety guidelines and is required to perform all work by the regional safety policies.
- Operates various tools for the work (manual digging devices, wrenches, hammers, come-alongs, jack hammer, and hand-line, etc.).
- All other duties as required or requested by Supervisors.
- Reports all potential equipment and crew safety hazards to Foreperson.
Requirements:
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Ability to: follow directions, work safely and productively, problem-solve with unidentified circumstances on any job, identify, operate, and service all required tools and equipment.
