Your Responsibilities

The HVAC Service Sales Representative plays a vital role in the growth and profitability of the HVAC Service sector. The selected individual will be tasked with initiating, establishing, and nurturing profitable service relationships with new clients. The primary focus will be on promoting renewable maintenance agreements as the foundational element for building these relationships. This role involves working within a designated geographic area, collaborating with sales and operations teams within the local branch. Utilizing sales tools to strategize and document sales progress is essential, as is the goal of securing and closing business on a monthly basis.


How You Will Achieve This

Adhere to a structured and professional approach to identify, target, and qualify potential new clients; leverage market conditions and network effectively to discover new leads and contacts.

Engage with prospective clients and arrange meetings. Build a referral network to identify new business opportunities.

Conduct sales meetings aimed at uncovering key sources of challenges and/or dissatisfaction faced by Facility Directors in managing heating/cooling, ventilation, and control system equipment.

Instill a sense of urgency to address client needs and position Johnson Controls as the preferred supplier. Propose solutions to client requirements through innovative application of local branch service capabilities, emphasizing renewable maintenance agreements, digital service offerings, sustainability, and decarbonization. Understand the client's business and communicate effectively in their terms.

Review and finalize proposals with clients, securing their commitment to the Johnson Controls solution.

Facilitate customer kick-off meetings, address client concerns, create opportunities for additional services, maintain service agreements, extend service contracts, and support the collections process.

Keep management updated on progress and account status using Johnson Controls tools and other communication methods. Recognize when to seek assistance from management to ensure the sales process remains on track.

Develop and execute territory marketing strategies aligned with the Johnson Controls Building Solutions business objectives. Participate in trade shows and engage with professional organizations.

Represent Johnson Controls with professionalism by conducting business according to the highest standards of quality, integrity, and performance.

Qualifications We Seek

Essential:

  • 2-3 years of experience in progressive sales roles

Desirable:

  • Technical aptitude with a keen attention to detail
  • Exceptional presentation skills with the ability to engage both individuals and groups.
  • Experience in selling services and intangible products
  • Familiarity with sales methodologies, standards, and practices.
  • Bonus Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Building HVAC Systems
  • Relevant experience in the field
  • Post-secondary education
