Qualifications:

A Bachelor's Degree in Dietetics, Food and Nutrition, or a related field is mandatory.

  • Preferred: 1 year of experience in Health Care.
  • LD - Licensed Dietitian in the State of Texas (6 months required).
  • RD - Registered Dietitian upon hire is essential.
Position Responsibilities:

  • Effectively employs each step of the Nutrition Care Process to deliver Medical Nutrition Therapy to designated patient groups.
  • Encourages teamwork and aligns with organizational objectives by demonstrating adaptability in scheduling and shift assignments. Proactively assists in balancing workloads and meeting deadlines.
  • Ensures safe and effective care through clear communication and workflow practices, including adherence to specific communication and safety strategies.
  • Enhances Quality in Practice through systematic outcome measurement, regular performance assessments, and ongoing improvement initiatives.
  • Maintains professional competence through continuous self-assessment and targeted study to address relevant knowledge and performance gaps.
Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrates proficiency in applying all steps of the Nutrition Care Process (NCP) in a clinical environment to effectively support patients and enhance care experiences.
  • Communicates clearly and effectively in both verbal and written formats.
  • Possesses adequate computer skills to navigate common business and nutrition-related software programs and electronic health record systems for care planning and documentation.
  • Exhibits strong interpersonal skills that facilitate effective collaboration within trans-professional teams.
  • Displays excellent customer service skills and the ability to manage high-pressure situations successfully.
