Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Communications and Events Specialist to join our team at Briggs & Stratton. As a key member of our corporate communications team, you will be responsible for planning and executing internal and external events, managing our digital communications strategy, and creating engaging content for our employees and community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute internal and external events, including town halls, leadership meetings, and employee education and engagement events
  • Manage our digital communications strategy, including digital screens, intranet content, and social media
  • Create original content and graphical elements for our digital channels
  • Evaluate donation and sponsorship requests and coordinate the review and response
  • Manage the relationship with our promotional vendor and internal cafeteria
  • Oversee the budget for the corporate communications team
  • Partner with HR to manage our employee recognition program

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Journalism, or related field
  • At least five years of experience in communications, with seven or more preferred
  • Experience in event management and social media
  • Strong understanding of meeting planning and logistics
  • Excellent comprehension of AP Style
  • Budget management skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with Canva, Illustrator, Google Suite, and PR Newswire
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Manager, Monday.com, Salesforce Marketing, and/or Meltwater

Additional Knowledge & Skills:

  • Proven ability to think outside-the-box to introduce new and exciting employee engagement and community involvement opportunities
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision and prioritize projects as they arise
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and maintain confidentiality
  • Fluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility and/or location

Travel Requirements:

  • 5-10% of travel required, with quarterly trips locally
