The Tennessee Board of Regents Job Summary:
Contributes to the operational efficiency of the Plant Operations Department by ensuring cleanliness and maintenance of facilities and surrounding areas.

Key Responsibilities:

Executes standard cleaning duties, including mopping, vacuuming, and dusting, while assisting in the relocation and arrangement of furniture and equipment.

Cleans interior glass surfaces, wall partitions, and both interior and exterior windows. Disposes of waste materials from facilities and grounds, adhering to recycling protocols. Responsible for daily cleaning and restocking of supplies in classrooms, restrooms, offices, public spaces, and storage areas.

Ensures proper handling and maintenance of cleaning equipment and supplies; advocates for ongoing enhancement of workplace safety and environmental stewardship.

Conducts routine floor care for both hard surfaces and carpets. Regularly prepares setups for events and meetings. Collaborates effectively with fellow custodians to achieve timely completion of group tasks and setups. Additional responsibilities may be assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
Three months of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED equivalent.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Proficient in operating and maintaining custodial equipment.
Capable of safely using and administering cleaning chemicals and supplies.
Ability to comprehend written and verbal instructions.
Knowledge of safety protocols, including hazardous material disposal procedures.
Physical capability to lift and handle heavy items weighing up to 50 lbs.

Competent in using a computer for completing timesheets and fulfilling required Safety and Human Resource training.


Compensation:
$14.00 per hour. Special Instructions to Applicants: Unofficial transcripts are acceptable for the application process. Official transcripts will be required upon hire. Applicants may be subject to a background check.

Work Schedule:
Part-time. Hours may vary based on operational needs.
