Marine Underwriting Director

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Marine Underwriting Director to join our team at The Hanover Insurance Group. As a key member of our Inland Marine team, you will be responsible for leading our underwriting efforts and driving business growth in this critical area.

• Develop and implement underwriting strategies to drive business growth and profitability
• Lead and manage a team of underwriters to achieve business objectives
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and pursue new business opportunities
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with agents and brokers to drive sales and growth
• Stay up-to-date on industry trends and developments to ensure our underwriting practices are aligned with best practices

• 7+ years of experience in marine underwriting, with a focus on specialty accounts
• 3+ years of experience in a leadership role, with a proven track record of driving business growth and profitability
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with agents, brokers, and internal stakeholders
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
