Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated individual to ensure the safe and efficient production of high-quality products by implementing effective manufacturing systems focused on safety, quality, productivity, cost management, and ongoing improvement.
Key Responsibilities
The following duties are essential to this role. Additional tasks may be assigned as necessary:
- Operate and maintain machinery in the press area, including progressive and transfer presses, hand grinders, measuring instruments, fixtures, and material handling equipment.
- Conduct visual inspections and utilize measuring tools, gauges, and fixtures to monitor product quality.
- Interpret job instruction sheets and inspection forms accurately.
- Maintain records related to quality, productivity, and equipment downtime.
- Complete daily log entries as required.
- Implement lean manufacturing principles effectively.
Supervisory Role
This position does not include supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) is required.
- A minimum of 1-3 months of relevant experience in a manufacturing setting is preferred.
Skills and Competencies
- Ability to read and interpret safety regulations, operating instructions, and maintenance manuals.
- Basic proficiency in mathematics and computer usage.
- Capability to apply common sense to follow instructions provided in written, oral, or diagrammatic form.
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this role, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands for handling or feeling, and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently walks, climbs, balances, talks, and hears. Occasionally, the employee stands, stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
The characteristics of the work environment are representative of those encountered while performing the essential functions of this position. Employees are regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and may experience vibrations. Occasional exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and outdoor weather conditions may occur. The noise level in the work environment is typically loud.
