Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct nursing care in line with established policies and protocols. Implement and monitor patient care plans.
  • Monitor, document, and communicate patient conditions as necessary.
  • Evaluate and adjust care plans to meet expected outcomes.
  • Act as the primary coordinator for multidisciplinary patient care.
  • Administer medications and treatments per approved nursing protocols.
  • Carry out physician and nursing orders accurately.
  • Assess and coordinate discharge planning with the healthcare team.
  • Identify educational needs of patients and their families, considering cultural and individual concerns.
  • Provide relevant teaching and educational materials.
  • Document patient and family understanding of educational content.
  • Engage in continuous professional development through formal and informal education.

Educational Requirements:

  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.

Licensure and Certifications:

  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required upon hire.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification may be required based on department.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required for specific departments within one year of hire.
  • Other certifications may be required based on specialty area.

Work Environment:

  • Requires critical thinking skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Must be able to perform effectively in a high-pressure environment.

Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum one year of acute care RN experience in a hospital setting is required.

Physical Demands:

  • Requires full range of motion, including lifting and handling patients.

  • Exposure to communicable diseases and body fluids is possible.
