We're seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Animal Care Technician Lead to join our team. In this role, you'll be responsible for providing husbandry services, training junior staff, and ensuring the welfare of animals in our care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Comply with safety and study requirements, as well as governmental regulations
- Recognize animal behavior and implement stimulation processes to reduce stressors
- Perform animal husbandry tasks, including preparing rooms for studies
- Train staff on animal weighing and husbandry procedures
- Oversee and assist with animal shipment activities
- Maintain regulated equipment and perform facility cleaning tasks
- Demonstrate ability to assist with veterinary procedures
- Develop and train junior staff on husbandry tasks
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- 2+ years of animal experience, with 3+ years preferred
- AALAS certification preferred
- Intermediate computer skills and ability to communicate effectively
- Intermediate math skills
