Role Responsibilities
  • The Internal Agency Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) is responsible for evaluating and treating patients in acute, post-acute, and outpatient environments across CoxHealth facilities. The SLP delivers services to patients of all ages as prescribed. The role focuses on assisting patients in achieving optimal levels of function in communication and swallowing.
  • The SLP will make recommendations for subsequent levels of care and provide education to patients and their families. The Internal Agency SLP will rotate through various units, hospitals, and outpatient settings as determined by Therapy Services leadership. Scheduling will be based on the areas and days of highest demand, including weekends and holidays.
Qualifications
  • Education
    • Required: Master's Degree in Speech Pathology or Communicative Disorders and Sciences
  • Experience
    • Preferred: At least two years of experience in a hospital or healthcare-related SLP role
  • Skills
    • Strong clinical expertise, interpersonal skills, and organizational abilities are essential.
    • Self-driven individual capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
    • Demonstrated commitment to professional development through participation in continuing education workshops and application of new techniques.
    • Excellent communication skills and a positive demeanor are required.
  • Licensure/Certification/Registration
    • Required: Active Speech Therapy license in the state of Missouri, CCC or CFY candidate, and BLS certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
