Job Overview

At Great Wolf Lodge, the Manager of Attractions and Retail plays a pivotal role in the strategic oversight and growth of the retail sector, leading personnel and ensuring the fulfillment of operational goals while maximizing profitability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manages all merchandising activities, including store layout and design, inventory management, analysis, product procurement, stock levels, and pricing strategies.
  • Responsible for the strategic direction and development of the retail division.
  • Supervises the operation of various attractions such as the Arcade, MiniGolf, XD Theater, and others as required.
  • Oversees merchandising for attractions, ensuring optimal display, inventory control, purchasing, and sourcing of materials.
  • Develops and oversees budgets for labor, cost of sales, and overall expenses.
  • Leads team management, including training programs, scheduling, and employee relations.
  • Manages sales operations, including point-of-sale systems, cash handling, financial reporting, and budget adherence.
  • Supervises back-office functions related to inventory coordination, including training and maintenance of inventory systems and reporting.
  • Responsible for payroll management, including tracking employee hours and making necessary adjustments.
  • Assists the Retail Director in daily operations across all areas of the Retail and Attractions Department.
  • Ensures that retail areas maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, and customer service.
  • Implements and monitors safety programs to ensure compliance with regulations related to ergonomics, emergency response, and workplace safety.
  • Orders and maintains adequate supply levels.
  • Ensures adherence to all standard operating procedures relevant to the role.

Essential Qualifications & Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • At least 1 year of experience in supervising or managing a large retail department.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in retail.
  • Successful completion of background checks and drug screening.

Preferred Qualifications & Attributes

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Retail Management.
  • Previous experience in Attractions Management or Retail Sales within a theme park or resort environment.
  • Proven ability to effectively resolve conflicts.
  • Strong commitment to thorough analysis, planning, and execution of work initiatives.
  • Ability to present a positive public image to team members and guests.
  • Skilled in motivating diverse teams to achieve exceptional results and overcome challenges.
  • Excellent management capabilities, including conflict resolution, coaching, and teamwork.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
  • Capable of lifting up to 30 lbs.
  • Able to bend, stretch, and twist as necessary.
