Job Summary

The Structural Staff Engineer will play a key role in project planning and design, working closely with the Project Manager to ensure effective collaboration among project team members and various design disciplines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation of structural designs and drawings of solar-related foundations and support structures
  • Conduct project specification research, determine applicable building codes, and ensure specific project requirements are addressed in design
  • Apply department and relevant standards to prepare calculations and drawings in accordance with project specifications
  • Coordinate with internal multi-disciplinary teams to address structural-related issues or concerns
  • Provide drafting support in AutoCAD in the production of the structural design plans
  • Driven and cast-in-place deep foundation design and inspection
  • Perform pile design, foundation design, and construction quality control
  • Apply geotechnical and corrosion recommendations in design
Requirements
  • 0-3 years of experience in civil/structural engineering
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited four-year college or university program
  • Preferred master's degree with a structural emphasis
  • Ability to utilize spreadsheets, databases, word processing, and computer operations
  • Working knowledge with codes including: IBC, ASCE, AISC, ACI, PCI, NDS
  • Working knowledge and skills in: AutoCAD, MS Office, MathCad, Risa 3D, or other FEA, RISA Foundation and LPile or similar
