Frederick Community College is seeking a qualified Adjunct Professor of Geography to join our faculty team. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching courses in geography and contributing to the development of our academic programs.
Responsibilities:- Teach courses in geography, including introductory and advanced courses, as well as specialized topics such as geographic information systems (GIS) and cartography.
- Develop and implement curriculum that aligns with the college's academic goals and standards.
- Assess student learning and provide feedback to students.
- Participate in departmental and college-wide initiatives to promote student success and retention.
- Engage in professional development to stay current in the field of geography and to improve teaching and learning practices.
- Masters degree in geography or a related field.
- Teaching experience at the post-secondary level.
- Ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, and administrators.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- PhD in geography or a related field.
- Experience with GIS and cartography.
- Experience with online course delivery.
