We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team at The Residence at Paine Estate, a senior living community in Wayland, MA. As an LPN, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our residents and supporting the Resident Care Director in managing the community.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the Resident Care Director in evaluating resident needs and developing service plans.
- Direct and supervise the daily work assignments of resident care associates.
- Evaluate residents' issues and medical concerns, and discuss with the ED, family, and MD as appropriate.
- Encourage teamwork through cooperative interactions with all departments to assist in eliminating/problem areas and overall improvement of services.
- Monitor resident care assistants' compliance with infection control/sharps disposal program.
- Participate in community marketing efforts.
- Participate in the direct care of residents on an as-needed basis.
- Provide support to resident care associates regarding assignment questions or concerns, as well as emergency situations.
- Ensure completion and review of incident/accident reports and implement changes through proper channels to minimize future issues.
- Assist the Resident Care Director with all documentation required by LCB Senior Living or state requirements.
- Administer topical and oral medications, as well as ear and eye drops, with written physician's orders.
- Current RN or LPN License in the state of employment.
- At least two years of experience in a geriatric setting and previous health experience in hospital and/or community setting.
- High school diploma and graduation from an accredited Nursing Program.
The LPN will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, interacting with residents, families, and healthcare professionals. The ability to lift a minimum of 15 lbs., and be able to carry objects, push and pull carts, and continuously walk, sit, and stand is required. Good physical and mental health, finger and hand dexterity, visual and auditory acuity, and the ability to use good body mechanics are essential.
