Job Summary:

MedStar Health is seeking a skilled Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to perform Nuclear Medicine and/or diagnostic medical radiographic exams and fluoroscopic exams in and out of the operating room setting.

The ideal candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, the ability to multi-task and work independently, and a strong commitment to providing outstanding quality and customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Acquire raw data to obtain the best possible image
  • Assist physicians with imaging guidance for biopsy procedures
  • Enter patient data at start of examination and monitor data acquisition during procedure
  • Ensure images are of acceptable diagnostic quality and completeness
  • Perform basic radiography and fluoroscopy in and out of the operating room setting
  • Obtain patient history, explain routine procedures, and address patient concerns
  • Perform IV Access and contrast injections per departmental policy
  • Request and order supplies as needed to keep materials on hand
  • Review and evaluate completed tests for quality, completeness, and type of test ordered
  • Ensure quality images
  • Schedule examinations when needed to ensure smooth flow and optimal utilization of equipment
  • Transfer images to PACS for interpretation and storage
  • Transport patients as needed to and from the department

Requirements:

  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • Registered by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB)
  • 1-2 years' experience in diagnostic radiology and/or nuclear medicine
  • Licensed by the State of Maryland
