About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant-Certified to join our team at Ochsner Health. As a Medical Assistant-Certified, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized, medical care to assigned patients in person, electronically, and via telephone under the supervision of a licensed healthcare provider.
  • Assist in the delivery of healthcare services to patients of diverse backgrounds and ages, maintaining positive relationships with patients and their families.
  • Work effectively with fellow employees to ensure the efficient flow of patients throughout their visit, providing support to them as well as to the attending physician.
  • Communicate via phone to ensure patient needs are met timely and accurately.
  • Access company data systems to document pertinent medical information.
Requirements
  • High school diploma required; completion of a formal medical assistant training program preferred.
  • Experience working with and maintaining confidential information, including experience working in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
  • Medical Assistant Certification required; Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association also required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Clinical knowledge and proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
