Role Summary:
The Registered Nurse in the Cardiac Catheterization Lab plays a vital role in delivering high-quality nursing care to patients across various age groups, including neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. This position focuses on the nursing process to ensure continuity and excellence in care for patients undergoing cardiac catheterization, interventional, and electrophysiology procedures, aligning with the hospital's philosophy and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize nursing principles to provide comprehensive care tailored to the specific needs of patients.
- Demonstrate proficiency in the skills necessary for effective patient care in the cardiac unit.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to enhance patient outcomes.
Qualifications:
Education:
Must be a graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
Experience:
Completion of the Nursing Department's orientation program is required. A minimum of two years in Critical Care is essential, with one year preferred in a Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory setting.
Licensure:
Current New York State Registered Nurse license is mandatory. BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
Work Environment:
This is a Per Diem position with a standard schedule of 12 hours. Flexibility in work shifts is expected.
Compensation:
The hourly wage for this position is competitive, reflecting the expertise and dedication required.
Working Conditions:
- Minimal manual dexterity required.
- Low occupational risk.
- Primarily sedentary work with occasional light effort.
