Job Summary:

As a skilled Machinist at Precision Gears, you will be responsible for performing machine operations on Mills, Lathes, Grinders, Hobs, and Broaches. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring the production of high-quality parts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Read and interpret process sheets, blueprints, and sketches to determine machining requirements, dimensional specifications, setup, and operating procedures.
  • Mount workpieces between centers, in chucks, or to faceplates, using manual or mechanical means.
  • Install preset tooling in tool posts, turrets, or indexing heads, and automatic-tool-change magazines, in the sequence specified on the process sheet.
  • Operate machine tools, monitoring numerical displays on control panels and comparing data with process sheets to verify dimensional adjustments, feed rates, and speeds of machining cuts.
  • Inspect first-run pieces and spot-check succeeding pieces for conformance to specifications, using precision instruments and gauges.
  • Organize materials for next runs to minimize changeover time.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Technical Requirements:
  • Proficiency in computer software applications, including statistical and manufacturing software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Microsoft Office Professional, Word, Excel, and statistical and manufacturing software experience a plus.
Language Skills:
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Dexterity and attention to detail essential for successful job performance.
Qualifications:
  • Intermediate reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent, or a 2-year degree program, typically acquired through formal education.
