Control Room Operator

Aethon Energy seeks a highly skilled Control Room Operator to join our team. As a key member of our Gas Control Center, you will be responsible for monitoring and controlling various pipelines, plant assets, compressor stations, well site facilities, and production. Your expertise will ensure efficient and safe operations, making you a vital part of our team.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor pipeline pressures, SWD's, field compressor units, well volumes, and pressures within designed criteria.
- Remote well operations, including starting and operating based on pumping by exception policy.
- Remote plant operations, adjusting treating needs according to production and marketing demands.
- Proactive monitoring to identify issues before potential downtime events occur.
- Alarm management and field operator callouts.
- Production tank monitoring, calling in loads based on alarms and production volumes.
- Collaborate with gas scheduling and field operation departments to execute gas volume changes.
- First contact in emergency response situations, notifying emergency services, operations, and Aethon management.
- Work with field operations to maximize throughput, coordinating during equipment or pipeline outages.
- Basic troubleshooting of communications, SCADA, control valves, and other equipment related to gas control and operations.
- Complete daily throughput reports and other intraday volume and pressure reports, distributing to relevant personnel.
- Participate in daily operations conference calls.
- Evaluate gas control operational problems and provide recommendations for solutions.
- Provide field operations with initial response to alarm conditions.
- Associate's Degree or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in gas control, pipeline operations, or related field experience directly related to gas control.
- Lease Operating or Operational Control Room experience is preferred.
- Must live within 50 miles of Dallas Office or be willing to relocate to Dallas, TX area.
- Basic knowledge of gas measurement principles and gas hydraulics.
- Understanding of basic computer applications, including Microsoft Excel and Word.
- SCADA and Cygnet experience is preferred.
- Strong verbal communication skills, along with good interpersonal skills.
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
- Good problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Proactive approach to looking at processes and systems to facilitate continuous improvement.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively work within a multi-disciplinary team to achieve production-related goals.
