Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Surgical Technologist to join our team at Northwell Health. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our Operating Room by assisting nursing personnel in providing quality care to patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in Preparing the Operating Room
    • Gather and prepare all necessary instruments, supplies, and equipment for each surgical procedure
    • Verify the sterility and integrity of all supplies and equipment
  • Support the Surgical Team
    • Pass and handle instruments to the surgical team in a safe and efficient manner
    • Assist in maintaining a sterile field and taking immediate action to correct any breaks in sterile technique
  • Collaborate with the Surgical Team
    • Participate in surgical counts and verify the accuracy of all instruments and supplies
    • Collaborate with the surgeon to ensure proper labeling of all specimens from the sterile field
  • Maintain a Safe and Efficient Environment
    • Ensure all equipment is functioning properly and troubleshoot any issues
    • Maintain a clean and organized workspace
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Successful completion of a nationally accredited educational program for surgical technologists or a certified surgical technologist (CST) credential administered by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA)
  • AHA BLS Certification required
Salary and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $46.74-$58.36/hour. Northwell Health offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as a 401(k) retirement plan.
