Job Summary

Pediatric Home Service is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Pediatric Nurse Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional care to medically complex, technology-dependent, and behaviorally challenged children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in Implementing Care Protocols: Collaborate with our Registered Nurses to develop and implement individualized care plans that meet the unique needs of each patient.
  • Administer Medications and Treatments: Safely and effectively administer medications and treatments as prescribed by our medical team.
  • Evaluate Patient Progress: Continuously assess and evaluate the effectiveness of our care protocols and make adjustments as needed to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Collaborate with Healthcare Team: Work closely with our interdisciplinary team, including Registered Nurses, Physicians, and other healthcare professionals, to provide comprehensive care to our patients.
  • Educate and Support Patients and Families: Provide education and support to patients and their families to empower them to manage their healthcare and make informed decisions.
  • Communicate Patient Observations: Promptly communicate patient observations and concerns to our medical team to ensure timely and effective interventions.
  • Maintain Accurate Medical Records: Maintain accurate and detailed medical records that reflect patient care and progress.
  • Uphold Patient Dignity and Confidentiality: Respect and uphold the dignity and confidentiality of each patient and their family.
  • Promote Optimal Growth and Development: Support the optimal growth and development of each child, including their physical, emotional, and social well-being.
  • Ensure Continuity of Care: Collaborate with our nursing team and other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care and seamless transitions between healthcare settings.
  • Adhere to Legal and Ethical Standards: Uphold the highest standards of legal and ethical practice in nursing, including adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Follow Infection Control Protocols: Maintain a safe and healthy environment for patients and staff by following infection control protocols and safety standards.
  • Maintain Pediatric CPR Certification: Maintain current pediatric CPR certification and respond effectively to emergencies.
  • Participate in Educational Programs: Participate in ongoing educational programs and staff meetings to enhance professional development and stay current with best practices in pediatric nursing.
  • Comply with Company Policies: Comply with company policies, procedures, and dress code at all times.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing for Licensed Practical Nurses.
  • Current State Licensure: Current State licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
  • Maintenance of Professional Knowledge: Maintenance of professional knowledge and skills through attending continuing education and/or state required training hours.
  • Minimum of Two Years Pediatric Nursing Experience: Minimum of two years pediatric nursing experience.
  • Pediatric Basic Life Support Certification: Completion of a pediatric basic life support certification course; current CPR card.
  • PALS & NRP Certification: PALS & NRP Certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of Pediatric Regulations: Knowledge of Delaware's OCCL and PPEC Regulations.
  • Good Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Valid Driver's License: Valid Driver's License and proof of current vehicle insurance.
