Audiology Assistant/Patient Care Technician

Duke Health Integrated Practice is a leading provider of audiology services, seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Audiology Assistant/Patient Care Technician to join our team. As a key member of our patient care team, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional care to patients of all ages with hearing and balance concerns.

Job Summary

The Audiology Assistant/Patient Care Technician will work closely with our supervising Audiologists to provide high-quality patient care, ensuring that each patient receives personalized attention and support. Your responsibilities will include facilitating patient care, preparing patients for diagnostic testing, and assisting with the fitting of hearing devices. You will also be responsible for maintaining accurate clinical documentation, ordering devices and supplies, and ensuring that all charges associated with patient care activities are accurate and sent to the Financial Care Counselor in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Communicate with supervising Audiologist to follow the care plan for each patient
  • Instruct patients and caregivers on the use of hearing devices and accessories
  • Prepare patients for diagnostic testing and monitor performance during testing
  • Ensure patient safety throughout evaluation and testing
  • Administer patient questionnaires and prepare room, equipment, and software for fitting of hearing devices
  • Assist with scheduling appointments and managing Audiologist's schedule
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure all charges associated with patient care activities are accurate and sent to the Financial Care Counselor in a timely manner
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a related 1-year technical school program and 2 years of experience in healthcare specialties related to the specific position. You will also need to have excellent communication and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
