Dietary Aide/Hostess

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Dietary Aide/Hostess to join our team at Citizens Health. As a Dietary Aide/Hostess, you will play a vital role in ensuring the comfort and well-being of our patients by providing exceptional food service and hospitality.
Responsibilities:
Visit with patients to discuss menus and preferences
Prepare and deliver meal trays
Assist with dish washing procedures
Plan and prepare production schedule and prepares foods necessary to fill diet prescriptions during tray service
Wash dishes and trays
Complete required sanitation procedures
Deliver and pick up patient trays to and from patient care areas
Complete other duties as assigned, including working as a Cafeteria Aide on weekends if necessary
Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent
Previous food service experience preferred
Self-starter who takes initiative, is open-minded, and a team player
Maintain a positive attitude with good energy
Work in harmony with assigned co-workers and other department's staff
Create a positive, supportive working atmosphere
Display integrity and accountability
Demonstrate kindness, courteousness, and sensitivity to patients, families, physicians, co-workers, and visitors at all times
Maintain confidentiality as defined by hospital policy
Accept and respond to constructive criticism and suggestions and strives for self-improvement
Demonstrate the ability to accept and implement change
Adhere to organization policies and procedures
Arrive at work on time and when scheduled
Demonstrate flexibility, initiative, and ingenuity in performing job tasks
Demonstrate professional conduct and maintains professional appearance
Demonstrate behavior that reflects the image of the institution
Working Conditions:
Well-lighted, well-ventilated work area
Subject to burns, cuts, and falls
Exposed to hot and cold temperature changes
May be exposed to infection when handling contaminated dishes or silverware, etc.
Exposed to continuous noises put out by electrical food service equipment
