Job Summary:
The Department of Prevention and Community Health at The George Washington University is seeking a part-time Dietitian, GoodMomS2 to play a key role in research related to health equity. The successful candidate will work with the Gestational Diabetes Management Program, a 2-year research project focused on developing a weight loss program for women who have experienced gestational diabetes mellitus.
Responsibilities:
- Implement a weight and glucose management program for new mothers in the first year after delivery.
- Provide group video-conferencing sessions on healthy eating and lifestyle behaviors.
- Offer one-on-one nutritional counseling and teach meal planning.
- Provide email and/or text support to research participants.
- Complete session assessments and develop educational materials.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in clinical nutrition, food and nutrition, or a related field.
- 3 years of relevant professional experience or a Master's degree in a related field with 1 year of experience.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Previous experience in nutrition counseling, preferably with a focus on weight loss and maintenance in adults.
- Experience working with overweight/obese populations and those with or at risk for diabetes.
Working Conditions:
This is a part-time position with a 20-hour workweek. The successful candidate will work Monday-Thursday, 9:00am-2:00pm, with the possibility of evening hours based on scheduling needs.
