Key Responsibilities:
  • Train and develop machine operators for process execution and part quality.
  • Assist in planning production workload.
  • Monitor equipment maintenance and collaborate with Maintenance.
  • Ensure proper first piece inspection before production.
  • Participate in daily shop-floor improvements and lean manufacturing.
  • Fulfill supervisory responsibilities and resolve problems with the Machine Shop Manager.
  • Plan alternative job paths and adjust work schedules as needed.
  • Analyze production data and suggest improvements daily.
  • Contribute to the Company's Safety Committee.
  • Follow the company's Quality Management System.
  • Continuously improve resource optimization and increase productivity.
  • Ability to work overtime, and travel as required.
  • Maintain a calm and professional attitude.
  • Perform other assigned job duties to support on-time delivery.
Requirements:
  • ITAR REQUIREMENTS: To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, the applicant must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident. Associate's degree preferred but not required.
  • Engineering background is a plus but not required
  • 12 + years' Machine Shop experience with a focus on programming lathes and mills
  • 2-3 years of supervisory/managerial/leadership experience desired along with extensive hands-on machining background
  • Experience on lathes with automated bar feeders, & Swiss machines
  • Experience with lights-out machining KPIs (Safety Quality of work output and products, On-time delivery, low scrap, monthly/ quarterly and annual sales out the door) previous successful
  • Advanced CNC lathe machine programming knowledge.
  • Able to lead, motivate, and train operators effectively
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus
  • Strong time management skills
  • Proficient MS Office skills
  • Excellent communication skills
