Position Overview:
SENIOR CREDIT ANALYST - Structured Finance
WHAT IS THE ROLE? The Senior Credit Analyst collaborates with Structured Finance Credit team members to provide insights and recommendations for new credit applications and credit extensions through thorough research, detailed analysis, and the coordination of precise documentation.
Structured Finance is the fund finance division of City National Bank, catering to a diverse range of alternative asset management clients with comprehensive financial solutions.
The team specializes in credit offerings such as leveraged lending (portfolio company financing), subscription-based lending, and NAV-based lending, among others.
What you will be responsible for:- Conducting credit evaluations and investigations for new and renewed loans.
- Gathering and supplying essential documentation and financial data for the Credit Officer to assess, evaluate, and determine suitable credit structures and terms for prospective borrowers.
- Monitoring the receipt of documents, analyzing, and evaluating credit-related documents. This may encompass financial statements for the business, owners, and/or guarantors, tax filings, cash flow assessments, collateral evaluations, covenants, etc., to identify strengths and weaknesses in a borrower's financial standing.
Providing analytical support related to due diligence, document processing, and financial statement assessments concerning transactions, credit approvals, and renewals.
Reviewing reports and collaborating with other Credit team members to ensure that all reporting requirements are fulfilled.
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in credit or financial analysis is required.
- At least 5 years of experience in a banking or financial services environment is essential.
- Experience in fund finance or leveraged lending is preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to present clear and precise recommendations based on analytical findings for loan actions.
- Strong analytical, organizational, interpersonal, and communication abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Working knowledge of accounting principles and financial statement analysis.
- Basic understanding of banking policies and procedures.
- Internship experience in credit and/or financial analysis is preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of relevant banking laws, regulations, and bank policies and practices is required.
- Completion of Credit Boot Camp is mandatory.
Starting base salary: $55.19 per hour. Actual compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. This position is eligible for bonuses and/or commissions.
