CNC Machining Specialist Role Overview

Bausch + Lomb, a leading global eye health company, is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to join our team. This role will be responsible for manufacturing parts and components for hand-held surgical instruments using sophisticated and complicated CNC metal machining equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Program, set up, and operate Citizen lathes or comparable equipment to manufacture precision parts.
  • Use measurement instruments, including micrometers, calipers, and optical comparators, to ensure accurate results.
  • Train other technicians to become proficient in setting up, operating, and manufacturing parts to controlled documents and drawings.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Meet print dimensions and specifications to consistently meet or exceed customer expectations.

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; machine shop certificate or journeyman level experience preferred.
  • 4+ years of experience programming, setting up, and operating sophisticated CNC metal machining equipment.
  • Excellent manual dexterity and ability to visualize shapes.
  • Ability to read blueprints and follow verbal and written manufacturing procedures.
