Certified Site Safety is in search of an Environmental Safety Compliance Specialist (ESCS) to support the oversight of construction projects and personnel.
The ESCS will collaborate closely with the construction management team to guarantee adherence to Health and Safety Plans, Work Specific Plans, Quality Plans, and schedules in accordance with the Department of Environmental Protection EHS Policies and Procedures, BEDC EHS Standards, as well as all applicable Federal, State, City, and local regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement the Environmental Health and Safety Plan (EHASP) for the construction management team.
- Monitor and verify compliance of contractors and subcontractors with EHS standards.
- Engage with contractors and subcontractors on a daily basis.
- Conduct daily audits and document site activities.
- Investigate and report on accidents and incidents.
- Perform administrative tasks using the client’s document management system.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in safety, environmental health and science, industrial hygiene, or a related field; certification as a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) by the Board of Safety Professionals, or Certified Health and Safety Technician (CHST).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with colleagues, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
Experience in environmental compliance within the NYC DEP framework and relevant experience in the construction sector is required.
- Completion of OSHA 30 Construction Safety and Health training within the last five years.
- Completion of BEDC EHS Training.
- Proficiency in computer applications, including the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
