Position Overview:

The Arizona Department of Economic Security (DES) is seeking a skilled and passionate individual to fill the role of Program Administrator within the Long Term Care Ombudsman Program (LTCOP). This program plays a vital role in supporting vulnerable populations, ensuring they receive the care and services they need to live with dignity and independence.

Key Responsibilities:

The Program Administrator will oversee complex operations at both programmatic and administrative levels, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations. Responsibilities include:

  • Providing leadership and direction to staff, ensuring effective statewide service delivery.
  • Managing training and performance evaluations for long-term care ombudsmen, ensuring adequate staffing and program integrity.
  • Collaborating with various stakeholders to develop policies and procedures that uphold client rights.
  • Administering grants and preparing reports to align with strategic objectives and monitor program effectiveness.
  • Driving initiatives that enhance service delivery for Arizona's aging population.
  • Preparing and managing the program budget, ensuring fiscal responsibility.
  • Acting as the primary contact for audits and legislative proposals, advocating for the needs of clients.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as public administration, social work, or gerontology.
  • A minimum of five years of progressive leadership experience in program management.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations related to long-term care.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience in budget management and policy development.
