About the Position

Orthopaedic Associates of Muskegon is seeking a skilled Physical Therapist to join our Rehabilitation team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for evaluating, treating, and managing patients' care in accordance with state laws and professional standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform and document initial exams, including review of medical history and referrals from physicians or surgeons, to identify problems and determine a diagnosis before intervention.
  • Provide direct patient care and develop individualized treatment plans to maintain, improve, or restore physical function, alleviate pain, and prevent physical dysfunction in patients.
  • Maintain patient records by tracking goals and progress while adapting treatment plans in accordance with facility policies and procedures.
  • Supervise Physical Therapy assistants to achieve patients' functional goals.
  • Participate in team meetings and other clinical and staff meetings.
  • Develop and enhance clinical expertise by maintaining awareness of current research, literature, and professional consensus regarding treatment strategies.
  • Demonstrate adherence to state practice acts and codes of ethical professional conduct in all spheres of clinical practice.
  • Discharge patients appropriately and follow up with patients as needed.
  • Provide EMR documentation in a timely manner to support treatment and treatment goals.
Requirements
  • Physical Therapy degree from an accredited program.
  • Licensed Physical/Occupational Therapist in the State of Michigan.
  • CPR Certification preferred.
  • Must maintain CEU requirements of licensure.

  • Detail-oriented.
  • Ability to endure hours standing and physical stamina to help lift patients.
  • Excellent communication skills for concise interaction with patients, physicians, and family.
  • Ability to function independently but also contribute to team efforts as needed.
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work well under pressure.
  • Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods.
  • Required to lift, position, push, and/or transfer patients.
  • Frequently perform reaching, bending, kneeling, and crouching.
  • Excellent customer service and patient care skills.
