Position Overview:

The Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering is seeking a full-time, 9-month faculty member to join the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor. We are looking for candidates with a strong background in Industrial and Systems Engineering and interdisciplinary approaches, particularly in the realm of smart manufacturing (Industry 4.0).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Developing and leading a significant research program
  • Publishing high-quality research outcomes
  • Mentoring Ph.D. candidates
  • Delivering undergraduate and graduate level courses in ISE

Exceptional candidates may be considered for endowed positions at the time of hire.

Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated experience in the intersection of ISE and smart manufacturing applications
  • A clear vision for contributing to department-funded research initiatives
  • A commitment to mentoring and supporting junior faculty

Preference will be given to applicants with established research trajectories and active funding portfolios.

The Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering offers a range of degree programs including BS, ME, MS, and Ph.D. We have a vibrant community of approximately 415 undergraduate and 180 graduate students, engaging in research across various domains such as advanced manufacturing, energy systems, healthcare systems, and transportation systems. We also emphasize methodological research in data analytics, machine learning, and optimization, with numerous opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration.
