Job Summary:

A highly skilled Mechanical Insulator is required to join our team at Old Dominion Group. As an experienced professional in finish work, you will be responsible for applying, removing, and repairing insulation on ducts, pipes, or other mechanical systems to control and maintain temperature.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess the scope of the job, measure the dimensions, and follow blueprints to ensure accurate insulation application.
  • Measure and cut various types of insulation to be applied around metal ductwork, ensuring a secure and efficient fit.
  • Apply and remove insulation on ducts, pipes, or other mechanical systems, adhering to safety protocols and industry standards.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.
  • Previous experience in construction, HVAC repair or installation, or a related field, with insulation experience preferred.
  • Ability to safely and correctly use and maintain tools and equipment.
  • Experience using various power/hand tools.
  • Demonstrated commitment to following safety rules.
  • Ability to read contract drawings, specifications.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Able to pass screening requirements needed to work onsite at government bases.
Physical Requirements:
  • Able to work in an indoor or outdoor construction work environment with potential exposure to dust, noise, waste, toxic and infectious materials, and possible inclement weather conditions.
  • Able to walk, sit, stand, bend, kneel, stretch, squat, and climb, and work in confined spaces.
  • Able to wear required personal protective equipment.
  • Able to work with specialized construction equipment, tools, and materials.
  • Able to see, talk, and hear in person, via phone, and/or through online/video.
  • Able to use hands and fingers in a manner that allows for use of a keyboard and phone.
  • Able to lift and carry items up to 50 lbs.
  • Able to pass Respirator fit test.
