We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Street Sweeper Operator to join our team at the City of Clovis, NM. As a key member of our Public Works department, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining our street sweepers to ensure our city's streets are clean and safe for our residents and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:- Operate and maintain street sweepers to ensure optimal performance and efficiency
- Clean and service street sweepers according to manufacturer's specifications
- Perform minor repairs to equipment, including replacing gutter brooms and curtains
- Assist in other areas of street maintenance, including pavement and alley repairs, chip sealing, and operating dump trucks and rollers
- Assist with snow and ice control operations, including operating salt and sand trucks and trucks with mounted plows
- Two years' experience in operation and maintenance of light equipment, with a workable knowledge of street sweepers
- Valid New Mexico Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or ability to obtain within 3 months
This position requires regular attendance and is subject to drug testing in accordance with City of Clovis policies. Essential duties are predominantly performed outdoors, with exposure to all types of weather conditions, airborne particles, and potentially toxic and/or caustic chemicals.
