Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled GIS Analyst to join our Planning Team at the City of Grand Prairie, TX. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and updating our GIS layers, including subdivisions, site plans, and zoning planned developments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and update Planning's GIS layers, including subdivisions, site plans, specific use permits, and zoning planned developments.
  • Assign addresses and maintain the address point GIS layer, communicate address assignments with internal and external customers, and review proposed street names and oversee street name change requests.
  • Conduct an address review for all development requests, assign addresses, assign suite numbers, and verify addresses for any requests outside of the development review process.
  • Update external agencies such as the post office, TC-911, and appraisal districts with assigned addresses, and create and maintain documentation for address assignments and addressing policies.
  • Create maps and conduct analysis for special area plans or studies, and create maps depicting opposition to current planning cases.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Geographic Information Systems or City or Urban Planning with a Certificate in Geographic Information Systems.
  • 1 year of directly related experience.
  • Valid Driver's License required.
  • Certificate of Geographic Information Systems.
