Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled Speech Language Pathology Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will provide speech-language therapy assistance to students with communication disorders, working under the guidance and supervision of a Certificated Speech-Language Pathologist.
Key Responsibilities- Provide speech-language therapy assistance to students with communication disorders
- Work with students having a variety of communication disorders and complex communication needs
- Implement services, which are appropriate for the students' age and functional level, within a dynamic and student-focused team
- Follow and implement treatment plans established by the supervising SLP, maintain documentation and data toward therapy goals, document progress toward goals, and report information to the supervising SLP
- Assist in the preparation of therapy materials, such as core boards, choice boards, communication books, visual icons, Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices, and additional equipment used for therapy activities
- Associate degree of Arts (AA) or Sciences (AS) degree from an accredited speech-language pathology assistant program; or a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in speech-language pathology or communication disorders from an accredited institution, that includes SLPA certification
- Possession of, or eligibility to obtain, a valid California State license to serve as a Speech/Language Pathology Assistant by the California Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology Board
- Prior SLPA experience in educational or clinical settings is preferred
- DOJ/FBI Live Scan Background & TB Clearance required
- Computer-literate; has knowledge of standard company software applications & use of the internet
- Effective interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational skills, with ability to manage multiple tasks
- Problem-solving ability and proven accuracy with detailed information
- Proficient written and verbal English language communication skills, including business writing and professional telephone manner

The successful candidate will be required to sit and view computer screens for extended periods of time. The noise intensity level is moderate to high. The position requires frequent reaching, handling, sitting, standing, walking, hearing, and talking. The candidate must be able to see and hear within normal range with or without correction.
