Position Overview:
UI Health is seeking qualified candidates for the role of Interventional Radiology Technologist. This position involves performing specialized procedures that require the acquisition, processing, and evaluation of medical imaging. The successful candidate will oversee staff and may be responsible for a specific area within the radiology department.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Supervise and coordinate the activities of radiography staff within the diagnostic sections of the department.
2. Assist in conducting complex diagnostic imaging exams, including fluoroscopy.
3. Ensure patient identification protocols are followed prior to procedures.
4. Operate various diagnostic imaging equipment, including fluoroscopy and mobile units.
5. Maintain and update technical protocol manuals.
6. Facilitate continuing education for staff to meet regulatory requirements.
7. Uphold cleanliness and order in accordance with health department guidelines.
8. Participate in emergency preparedness drills and respond to disaster situations.
9. Engage in staff orientation and competency evaluations.
10. Contribute to the development and revision of departmental policies and procedures.
11. Assist in interviewing and evaluating radiography staff.
12. Provide on-call coverage as necessary.
Qualifications:
1. Current registration and certification in Radiography by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
2. Valid accreditation as a Radiologic Technologist by the State of Illinois (IEMA).
3. American Heart Association BLS CPR Certification.
4. Minimum of two years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist.
