Location: Peachtree Orthopaedic Surgery Center at Perimeter

Work Schedule: Enjoy a balanced work-life schedule with 10-hour shifts, no night shifts, weekends, holidays, or on-call responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Patient-Focused Care: Manage patient flow, ensuring the provision of outstanding nursing care while optimizing resource use.
  • Leadership & Teamwork: Utilize your clinical expertise and leadership abilities to promote a collaborative environment among colleagues.
  • Operational Management: Assume the role of Nurse Manager in their absence, overseeing daily operations.
  • Safety Awareness: Exhibit a thorough understanding of safety protocols and equipment usage to mitigate risks to staff and patients.
  • Communication Liaison: Keep the Nurse Manager updated, providing support and guidance to staff, anesthesiology, vendors, physicians, visitors, and patients.
  • Customer Service Orientation: Maintain a customer service mindset towards patients, visitors, vendors, and team members.
  • Staffing Coordination: Strategically plan staffing assignments for optimal coverage and resource utilization, securing additional support as necessary.
  • Resource Oversight: Assist in the procurement of medications and management of inventory and supplies throughout the facility.
  • Educational Contributions: Evaluate training needs, making recommendations and participating in employee development.
  • Operational Monitoring: Assess employee performance, report supply shortages, and contribute to budgetary considerations.
  • Inventory Management: Collaborate with the Materials Manager to conduct quarterly inventory assessments, promoting awareness of waste and costs.
  • Safety Compliance: Understand and implement appropriate techniques for equipment use, ensuring adherence to established procedures and standards.
  • Special Projects: Maintain and contribute to a designated area of special assignment.
  • Training Responsibilities: Lead the training of new staff members.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program.
  • Current nursing license in the State of Georgia, knowledgeable about the nursing performance standards as per the Georgia Nurse Practice Act.
  • Mandatory certification in CPR and ACLS.
  • Previous experience as an OR Circulator is essential.
  • Preferred background in Ambulatory Care and Orthopedics.
  • Experience with conscious sedation is a plus.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment: The physical demands outlined here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this role. The employee may need to be on their feet for extended periods and may be required to push, pull, or transport patients on stretchers and in wheelchairs. These responsibilities can be demanding, particularly when assisting injured individuals. There is potential exposure to anesthetic gases, hazardous materials, blood and bodily fluids, sharps, and cleaning agents. The employee frequently needs to move all extremities within a full range of motion and may need to stoop and bend at 90 degrees. Specific vision abilities required for this position include close vision.
