Dietary Cook

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Dietary Cook to join our team at Lincoln Community Hospital and Nursing Home. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality meals to our patients and residents.

• Prepare and cook meals according to established menus and recipes.
• Ensure that all food is served in a timely and attractive manner.
• Operate and maintain kitchen equipment in a clean and safe condition.
• Clean and sanitize the cooking area after meal preparation.
• Perform related tasks as assigned by the Kitchen Lead.

• A high school education or equivalent is required.
• One year of experience in food service is preferred but not required.
• Ability to lift, push, pull, and move a minimum of 30 pounds.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

The Dietary Department is a clean, well-lighted, and well-ventilated area. You will be working in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions and loud noises. You must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday and be willing to work variable hours as necessary.

• Ability to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable the senses to function adequately.
• Ability to function independently and have personal integrity.
• Ability to work effectively with patients, residents, personnel, and support agencies.

• Must wear a chef coat with black pants or black jeans.
• Must wear leather or vinyl shoes with rubber soles.
• Must wear dietary uniform while on duty.
