Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented State and Local Tax Professional to join our team. As a State and Local Tax Professional, you will work with large and small companies in various industries, developing strong working relationships with clients built on understanding their businesses and challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Integrate state and local tax services with existing clients to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Complete tax planning and research tasks to ensure compliance with state and local tax regulations.
- Develop an in-depth understanding of state and local tax regulations and accounting pronouncements to provide expert advice to clients.
- Review clients' current tax processes to identify inefficiencies and provide enhancements to improve their procedures and reduce tax exposure.
- Work with clients' information technology personnel to obtain data on historical purchasing and sales to analyze for reporting requirements, audit procedures, and review for potential refunds or credits.
- Assist clients with evaluating sales/use tax software systems that meet their compliance needs and support the implementation process.
Requirements
- 90 credit hours completed towards a B.A. or B.S. degree from an accredited university.
- Accounting major or equivalent.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to travel to assigned client locations and arrange for reliable transportation.
- A minimum 3.0 GPA is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to work effectively on a team and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
