We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at the Corrections Facility. As a LPN, you will provide general and emergency nursing care to adults and children in custody, while maintaining facility security standards.
Key Responsibilities- Utilize the nursing process to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
- Integrate and implement referrals to staff physician, nurse practitioner, dentist, and mental health professional
- Monitor patient condition and report to RN and/or physician
- Collaborate with RN regarding plan of care and effective/ineffective nursing interventions
- Document patient response to nursing and other interventions
- Participate in infection control activities and orientation of staff
- Adhere to facility policy and procedure, and follow security guidelines and protocol
- Possesses a current Practical Nursing License in the applicable state
- Minimum of one year experience in Corrections preferred
- Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
- Participation and completion of Amergis' Competency program when applicable
- Current CPR if applicable
- TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
- Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
- Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements
- Successful completion of new hire training as applicable to job site
- Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements
- Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals via strong communication skills
