Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at the Corrections Facility. As a LPN, you will provide general and emergency nursing care to adults and children in custody, while maintaining facility security standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Utilize the nursing process to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
  • Integrate and implement referrals to staff physician, nurse practitioner, dentist, and mental health professional
  • Monitor patient condition and report to RN and/or physician
  • Collaborate with RN regarding plan of care and effective/ineffective nursing interventions
  • Document patient response to nursing and other interventions
  • Participate in infection control activities and orientation of staff
  • Adhere to facility policy and procedure, and follow security guidelines and protocol
Requirements
  • Possesses a current Practical Nursing License in the applicable state
  • Minimum of one year experience in Corrections preferred
  • Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
  • Participation and completion of Amergis' Competency program when applicable
  • Current CPR if applicable
  • TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
  • Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
  • Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements
  • Successful completion of new hire training as applicable to job site
  • Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements
  • Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals via strong communication skills
