We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Medical/Surgical Unit team at Roane Medical Center. As a LPN, you will provide high-quality patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse and contribute to a collaborative and supportive healthcare environment.
Responsibilities- Initiate patient admission database and history, and collaborate with the RN to implement patient and family teaching and care needs.
- Practice in compliance with all regulatory standards and adhere to hospital policy and procedures.
- Perform and prioritize nursing care tasks, accurately following the nursing plan of care and pertinent medical orders.
- Observe and report nursing interventions and patient responses, documenting in a timely and concise manner.
- Recognize, respond, and report changes in patient conditions to the RN Team Leader.
- Participate in unit-specific quality assurance activities and patient care conferences as requested.
- Demonstrate principles of infection control and collaborate with the infection control nurse to ensure patient, visitor, and personnel safety.
- Assist in orienting new employees or students to unit routines.
- Administer IV venipuncture and parenteral fluids per established hospital protocol.
- Perform specific advanced patient care treatments as approved to perform per hospital protocol.
- Currently licensed by the Tennessee Board of Nursing as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
- No prior experience as a LPN/LVN is needed.
