Childcare Respite Worker

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Childcare Respite Worker to join our team at Open Skies Healthcare. This role is perfect for individuals who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with Special Educational Needs (SEN).

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure the well-being and safety of children with SEN diagnosis.
• Supervise children during arts and crafts, reading, social skill building, and recreational play activities.
• Lead developmentally appropriate recreational activities that promote physical and emotional growth.
• Implement interventions to encourage positive behaviors as specified in the respite care plan and agency guidelines.
• Provide transportation/escort services for children to activities, assist with homework, and participate in service/treatment planning and case reviews.
• Maintain a positive attitude and interact effectively with children, addressing challenging behaviors in a supportive manner.
• Communicate efficiently with family members, supervisors, and other staff members.
• Prepare accurate written reports and documentation of interactions with children and their needs.
• Meet regular reporting requirements and participate in mandatory trainings.
• Contribute to maintaining a professional reputation for the agency.

Qualifications:

• A minimum of 18 years of age and possession of a high school diploma or equivalent certification.
• Pass a background check under state regulations.
• Able to provide reliable transportation to and from the respite center.
