Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, candidates should meet the following criteria:
- Completion of at least two sections of the CPA examination
- Proven ability to effectively communicate with clients
- Demonstrated capacity to work autonomously
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
- Familiarity with firm-specific technologies, including Caseware, RIA Checkpoint, and CCH
- Willingness to adapt to job demands, including occasional travel
- Access to reliable transportation
- Flexibility to accommodate varying work hours as necessary
- A minimum of one year of relevant accounting experience
Key Responsibilities:
The selected candidates will be expected to:
- Exhibit a strong work ethic and foster positive interactions with clients and colleagues
- Stay updated on relevant developments in the governmental and non-profit sectors
- Communicate audit progress and any challenges to the audit team leader
- Identify potential risks and escalate them to the Senior Auditor or Audit Supervisor
- Contribute ideas and actively engage in discussions with team members
- Work independently with minimal supervision from senior staff
- Accept and complete assignments in a timely manner
- Review past procedures and seek to enhance audit methodologies
- Understand and prepare fundamental financial statements
- Recognize the need for additional hours to fulfill project requirements and assist the audit team in meeting deadlines
- Actively pursue CPA exam completion
