We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Research Technician I to join our team in the Psychiatry department at the University of Arizona. The successful candidate will assist in the analysis of postmortem brain tissues and contribute to the development of new molecular techniques for bulk tissue and single-cell RNA-Seq.
Key Responsibilities- Isolate RNA and DNA from postmortem brain tissues under the guidance of Dr. Vladimirov.
- Analyze the expression of selected miRNA and genes using qPCR from the isolated tissues.
- Assist with library preparations for RNA-Seq and perform gel electrophoresis.
- Contribute to the maintenance of cell lines and assist in the preparation and organization of lab protocols.
- High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent learning attained through experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work independently.
- Knowledge of RNA and DNA isolation, RNA-Seq, and gel electrophoresis.
- Experience working with cell cultures and iPSCs.
