Position Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED is required
  • Bachelor's degree and/or culinary certificate preferred
  • 1-3 years of prior experience in food service sales or restaurant management (front of the house)
  • Willingness to relocate or consider other territories
  • Must maintain a valid state driver's license and a safe driving record

Role Overview

As a Field Sales Executive, you will be responsible for managing sales and relationships for existing and potential clients within your designated territory. This includes:

Pursuing New Clients

  • Researching industry and market trends affecting restaurants within your territory
  • Identifying and investigating prospective clients
  • Creating sales strategies that showcase products, services, values, and solutions offered by Gordon Food Service

Enhancing Existing Client Relationships

  • Visiting all clients within the assigned territory regularly
  • Conducting business reviews to assess client needs and identify growth opportunities
  • Providing ongoing training on Gordon Food Service product offerings
  • Identifying areas where Gordon Food Service can add value to existing clients

Sales Territory Management

  • Balancing new client acquisition with strengthening existing relationships
  • Coordinating visits to prospective and current clients
  • Communicating order status and updates to clients

Sales Training

Gordon Food Service aims to set you up for success during your initial training period. This includes engaging you in various training offerings such as e-learning, classroom sessions, video roleplays, job shadowing, and mentorship from experienced sales representatives.

Throughout your training, you will learn:

  • How to utilize Gordon Food Service systems and tools for managing client relationships
  • About the products available to our clients
  • The sales process for engaging new clients
  • How to establish relationships within the extensive network of resources available to you
  • Best practices for developing relationships with current and prospective clients
  • Strategies for effectively managing your territory
