Your Impact:The Registered Nurse Specialist, under the guidance of the Director of Nursing, delivers licensed nursing care and associated technical services for individuals with mental health challenges, ensuring a safe environment by assessing medical stability, monitoring, evaluating, intervening in crises, and providing structured activities and support.
Responsibilities include documenting daily care, reporting changes to physicians, and assisting with nursing-related tasks as assigned.The Registered Nurse Specialist is tasked with fostering a safe, clean, and healthy environment while adhering to necessary procedures for handling, cleaning, or moving objects/materials.
They ensure compliance with departmental protocols, policies, guidelines, and facility standards while maintaining regular communication with other members of the multidisciplinary team.
This role requires physical capabilities, schedule flexibility, and the ability to work in diverse conditions and multiple environments, with 85% of responsibilities involving direct patient care.
Key Duties:Administer immunizations; prepare and provide prescribed medications via various methods including oral, subcutaneous, intramuscular, rectal, topical, and inhalation.
Accurately document medications and treatments in patient records; monitor vital signs; observe, document, and report patient responses to medications and treatments.
Assist Physicians/Registered Nurses (RNs) with diagnostic tests, treatments, and therapeutic interventions while observing and recording patient reactions.Contribute to the formulation, re-evaluation, and adjustment of patient care plans to address the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual needs of each individual.
Monitor patient behavior; identify symptoms that may hinder the patient's ability to function; establish rapport and understanding with the patient to achieve specific goals; discuss nursing assignments, care, and individual patient needs with Clinical Staff based on ongoing assessments of patient behavior, and plan therapeutic interventions proactively before crises arise.Qualifications & Requirements:
Education: Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT) degree from an accredited nursing institution is a fundamental requirement for all Licensed Nurse positions.
Experience: No additional experience beyond the basic requirements is necessary. Licensed Nurses at this level are expected to perform all duties within their licensure scope. However, completed work may require routine or detailed higher-level review depending on the complexity of the tasks involved.
