We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Hackensack Meridian Mountainside Medical Center in Montclair, NJ. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our Respiratory Therapy Department.
Responsibilities- Administer respiratory therapies, including gas, positive pressure breathing, humidity, and aerosol therapy, as prescribed by physicians.
- Perform chest physiotherapy to mobilize secretions and ensure proper tube placement.
- Conduct arterial blood gas sampling and analyses, adhering to State Standards and hospital policies.
- Participate in physician consultations and recommendations regarding respiratory therapeutic modalities.
- Provide comprehensive patient care, including education and support, to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient care and effective communication.
- Perform quality control activities and maintain departmental equipment in proper working order.
- Assist in the orientation of new employees and clinical training.
- Participate in departmental meetings and adhere to departmental policies and procedures.
- Associate Degree from an approved NBRC Program.
- Current CPR (BLS) or ACLS certification from an accredited institution.
- Licensed Respiratory Therapist in the State of New Jersey.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work cooperatively with patients, family members, and multidisciplinary team members.
- Ability to utilize effective time management and analytical skills to problem-solve.
- One to two years of experience in all forms of Respiratory Therapy.
