About the Role

As a Senior Facilities Mechanical Engineer at Alcon, you will play a critical role in leading the implementation, continuous improvement, and sustainability of reliability systems and processes within our manufacturing site in Johns Creek, GA.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage reliability programs and activities to ensure maximum availability of key assets, utilities, and support equipment.
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert in the design and operation of industrial equipment, including air compressors, chillers, cooling towers, piping, pumping, HVAC, dehumidification, and process cooling systems.
  • Drive increased uptime using reliability tools and processes, including Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) and Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA).
  • Collaborate with maintenance planners and technicians to coordinate installation, repair, and maintenance tasks to ensure production departments can function properly and reliably.
  • Implement reliability concepts, including Root Cause Analysis, Reliability Centered Maintenance, Predictive Maintenance technologies, and Preventive Maintenance development/optimization.
  • Develop and implement plans for continuous improvement of plant utilities, processes, and process controls.
  • Identify and manage asset reliability risks that could adversely affect plant or business operations.
  • Select engineering techniques to solve problems and make recommendations, including coordinating projects for process improvements.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience.
  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English.
  • 2 Years of Relevant Experience.
  • 1 Years of Demonstrated Leadership.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience developing asset strategies (time-based inspection/replace, and condition-based tasks).
  • Strong technical expertise in applying Precision Maintenance techniques in industrial manufacturing processes.
  • Strong knowledge of Precision Maintenance procedures.
  • Knowledge of equipment design and failure modes.
  • Experience with interpreting forensic evidence to identify failure modes.
  • Experience with Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) and facilitating Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
  • Exposure to operations, process control, project engineering, plant maintenance, construction, and new installations.
  • Experience with computer maintenance management systems (CMMS) preferably IBM Maximo.
  • Advanced skills in basic personal computer software including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong communication (written, oral, and interpersonal) skills.
  • Ability to lead and be part of cross-functional teams.
