McFarland Clinic, P.C. is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Optometric Assistant to join our team in the West Ames office. As an Optometric Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our ophthalmologists and optometrists in delivering high-quality medical services.

• Prepare patients for exams and take visual acuity and perform basic screening tests
• Educate patients on their medical conditions and treatment options
• Refill medications and perform ancillary tests as needed
• Schedule patients and respond to phone calls in a timely and professional manner

• High School Diploma, GED, or HiSET
• Ophthalmic experience preferred, but not required (on-the-job training available)
• Excellent customer service skills and ability to multitask
• Keyboard and computer experience
• One year of work experience in a medical office setting preferred
